The RV-12iS is a two-seat all-metal side-by-side airplane with a large cabin that seats the occupants ahead of the wing spar for maximum room and superb visibility. The aircraft is powered by a Rotax 912iS engine which offers improved fuel economy, improved climb rate, easy access, easier maintenance as it needs no carburettor balancing and extra electrical power output to feed avionics and lights. Among other design improvements, the RV-12iS offers newly designed seats, electric flaps, more baggage volume and improved landing gear attachments. The newly designed cowling is easier to remove and offers better cooling in the climb.
The normal cruise speed (5100 rpm) produces 115 KTAS at 16 liters per hour fuel consmption. High speed cruise is 125 KTAS (5450 rpm) and 20 liters fuel per hour. In normal cruise it consumes 16 litres per hour, giving the pilot a whopping 4,5 hours endurance or 573 nm VFR range !
The RV-12iS wings are quickly and easily removable. Using methods proven over decades in high-performance sailplanes, two people can have the wings off the airplane in less than five minutes, making it easy to transport on a trailer and keep off-airport.
PH-IIX was built with love and care. Much attention was given to details. It is equipped with a Sensenich 2A0R5R70EN ground-adjustable, carbon fibre, 2-bladed propeller and it’s avionics suite consists of a Dynon Skyview HDX, Dynon AP/FD, Trig TY91 VHF COM (8.33 Khz) and ACK ELT.
